INTRODUCTION:

Bhrigu lake trek is a perfect trekking destination for any beginners to advance adventure lovers. The Bhrigu lake is located at 14000 feet. From the top of the lake, you can experience the vast Pir Panjal range and wonderful dhauladhar range.People think that the saintly maharishi Bhriigu used to meditate here. From his name, the lake got its name. Trekking to Bhrigu Lake will give you a great Adrenaline Rush. The beautiful Meadows that are covered with the total trekking path will be so amazing. Manali to Bhrigu Lake is 22 kilometerss. You can plan for this amazing high-altitude lake trek from the middle of May to the middle of October. In August you can also visit here. The night temperature in summer can be 7 to 8 degrees Celsius. Day temperature can be 23 to 26 degrees Celsius. You can also crack this trek in the monsoon season. You need to carry a copy of your ID card for entry at the forest check post. While doing this trek you need to carry some important things such as a walking pole, a water bottle, snacks like energy bars/ dry fruits/ some chocolates, a rain cover, a good backpack with rain cover, trekking shoes, sunscreen, a scarf/ hat, medicine for fever, cough, medicine for high altitude sickness, etc. If you were suffering from asthma, high blood pressure, or heart problems then it would be better to avoid this trek. Trekking Itinerary

Day 1

On the first day, you need to reach Manali. After arriving at Manali one needs to drive towards the gulaba road. The total drive distance is 24 km which can be covered in 1 to 1.5 hours. After reaching Gulaba, trackers need to head towards Jonker Thatch. This is a 1.5 km trekking that can be completed within 1.5 to 2 hours.

Another option is, this day you can take a rest at Manali. You can cover sightseeing in Manali. You can explore the Hadimba Temple, Vasisht temple, Manu temple, and Jogini waterfall. Spending a night on mall road in Manali will give you the ultimate joy. Here you can explore some amazing roadside dishes. The taste of these dishes will be amazing. At the mall road, you will find some artists drawing some beautiful scenery on a piece of wood. You can buy this wall hanging from them and give it to someone as a memory of Manali. 

 

Day 2

After completing your regular breakfast trekkers need to trek Jonker Tatch to Roli Kholi. The total trekking distance is 5 km which can be covered within 3.5 to 4 hours. Roli Kohli is situated at an altitude of 12,590 feet. This is a moderate to steep ascent. Your first can site will be situated at Roli Kholi. Here you can enjoy the wide Himalayas, the amazing Hanuman tibba, and the beautiful Seven Sisters. At night you need to stay at the campsite of Roli Kholi or Rola Kholi.

 

Day 3

This day will be very exciting and amazing for you. After waking up in the morning and having your regular breakfast you need to head towards Roli kholi to Bhrigu Lake. The total tracking distance is 10 km and it takes 7.5 to 8 hours to complete. On this day you will trek from 12,590 feet to 14,009 feet. After reaching Bhrigu Lake you will find that the mountain ranges are reflected in the water of the amazing lake. This experience will be unforgettable. Here you can stay for an hour, click some amazing photos, and then you need to head back to Roli kholi. After arriving at the campsite you need to stay here overnight. 

 

Day 4

On this day you need to again start your trek from Roli Kholi to Gulaba. The total trekking distance is 5 kilometers and it takes 3.5 to 4 hours to complete. Today you need to descend 12,590 feet to 9,875 feet. After arriving at the base village you need to drive back to Manali. 

 

How To Reach Manali?

The closest railway station at Manali is Pathankot. After arriving at the railway station a direct bus will take you to Manali which is 300 kilometers. After reaching the Bhuntar airport at Manali, a bus or a taxi will take you to Manali. An overnight bus from Delhi will take 14 hours to reach Manali. From Chandigarh, you can also take an overnight bus which takes 10 hours to reach Manali.
