The acquisition includes the company’s plumbing, lighting, appliances, pipe, valves, fittings, oil & gas, and waterworks supply businesses. The company has 2,500 employees and distributes more than 125,000 products.

The Reece Group has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire MORSCO Inc, a leading utility in Texas. Reece intends to retain the management team of MORSCO while deploying its own personnel in the US. Sasha Nikolic will become Reece’s senior operational representative in the US, while Gavin Street will transition to the role of Chief Financial Officer. The transaction is expected to close by July 2018.

The acquisition will add to Reece’s global footprint. The Australian company is one of the leading plumbing, HVAC and waterworks supply distributors. MORSCO has over 2,500 employees in 16 locations across the country. The acquisition of MORSCO will provide Reece Group with access to the US plumbing market, which is estimated to be USD32 billion.

Reece’s majority shareholder, the Wilson Family, is contributing $300 million to the equity raising. The deal also involves borrowing A$1.14 billion through a seven-year secured credit facility. The agreement is subject to regulatory approvals.
